PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main objective of the National Vocational Training Project-II was to improve the quality and expand the capacity of vocational training system to meet the skilled & semi skilled manpower requirement for industrial and agri/rural sectors through (i) increasing the existing capacity and building new vocational training centres. (ii) strengthening instructional training & improved management of the system. Semiotics was commissioned to conduct the following studies/seminars under separate contracts.

  3. Follow up Study of NSTI Courses
  4. Operational Autonomy of National Staff Training Institute Islamabad
  5. Demand for Advanced (Level-I)
  6. Development of Rural Apprenticeship Training Programme
  7. Cost Recovery and Financing of Vocational Training in Pakistan
  8. Restructuring of National Vocational Training Project
  9. National Seminars on Vocational Training Policy and Financing of Vocational Training:

In all the above studies except at S. No 4, 8 and 9, performed the following tasks:

  • Assembled and mobilized the research team to develop the research methodology
  • designed and pre-tested the research instruments
  • hired and trained the field staff for data collection
  • carried out literature review, survey of enterprises, vocational training institutions, pass outs in all the four provinces
  • analyzed  the primary and secondary data
  • Prepared the draft and final reports.
