The technical assistance was funded by ADB for project preparation. The project was conceived as continuation of the work carried out in Phase I. The activities in the first phase were curriculum development, teacher training provisions of equipment and capacity building of IPSET and SEC.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED
Semiotics assembled and mobilized the research team. Assisted the international consultant and played instrumental role in organization and conducting workshop on science and mathematics education. Provided the support to international consultant for assessing the teacher satisfaction and benefits gain from in-service training. Developed the strategy for conducting the need assessment survey. Designed and pre-tested the research instruments. Hired and trained the field staff for primary data collection. Undertook a comprehensive nation wide survey of schools. Analyzed data andidentified a list of 2000 secondary school in each province based on need giving priority to school serving rural female with the existing science teachers, running water, electricity and building site. Prepared draft and final report.
